Who Am I and Why Do I Coach?

Unlike previous blog posts, this one is special: I want to share my own story with you, why I coach, and what coaching means to me.

When I was accepted into ITU’s Management Engineering program, my biggest dream was to work in global companies and build a corporate career. After spending three years in the ITU Volunteers Society and realizing how passionate I am about making an impact on people’s lives, my career plans changed forever. I understood that I wanted to work in a human-development-focused field, and after a long period of career uncertainty, I found myself on the path to becoming a coach.

When I started my coaching training in 2021, I didn’t know I would pursue coaching professionally. The power of coaching to create positive change in people’s lives fascinated and motivated me to go through a long accreditation journey and become a practitioner. Today, with over 200 hours of coaching experience with more than 20 clients, I still accompany each coachee on their personal growth journey with the same excitement I had on day one. My guiding star as I practice this profession is the vision of a world filled with stronger, more confident, and successful individuals. 

For me, coaching is one of the most meaningful ways to live my values of empathy, compassion, and social impact. I see it as a true privilege to walk alongside individuals as they tap into their inner strengths and potential, move toward their goals, and create a better life. I believe that life hides treasures within each of us and assigns each of us a mission connected to our own treasure. Supporting others to discover their inner treasures is, I believe, my life mission—and I feel extremely fortunate that life has equipped me with the skills to do this.
